The Taxman Cometh

Well, I wrapped up my 2008 taxes this past weekend and meet with my accountant tomorrow afternoon.
I always enjoy seeing Harvey because he has a great outlook on life and for all the years we have had a relationship I tend to learn something from him. Even during the darkest moments when he announces, with a face contorted into a pained cringed, ” You are going to owe a fair amount of taxes”. There always seems to be some solace in the end. Last year he exclaimed, “It’s a good thing you are paying taxes. It means you are making money.”
The dreaded 1099's always find their way to my office.
Every year he asks if I contributed to a SEP-IRA or a Roth IRA. I laugh and usually respond by saying, “Oh yeah, one is a computer and the other is a camera”!
